It is almost Valentine’s Day. The snow has melted away here and it is getting warmer. I can see the Daffodils pushing up their green leaves in the backyard.
In this little painting I celebrate the promise of hope and the new possibilities of spring.
This painting was done on a 3⅛”X5⅛” piece of Arches140lb watercolor paper that I coated with a tinted ground then worked in colored pencil to achieve my composition using acrylic paint for the highlights and details. It has a few coats of acrylic varnish applied for a nice finish. I will send it to you in a 5”X7” black matt with a 3”X5” opening and a foam core backer. This little painting could easily be removed from this matt if you wish to re-matted it into your own matt.
